Working For God Doesn’t Guarantee Eternity. By Yinka Onifade

I have for the umpteenth time, asked myself if one’s involvement in church activities would guarantee one’s eternity. But my loud and clear answer has been an emphatic NO. And I shall be satisfying everyone’s curiosity as I unveil the reason that informed my decision.
Don’t be confused. I am definitely not devaluing the importance of working for God- our kingdom work. In fact, it is very much crucial and significant. However, it doesn’t give us the passport to eternity.
Get this: Our work in the kingdom does not make us fit for the kingdom, and the reason is that our work for God and not our walk with Him makes our work in the kingdom(done here on earth) irrelevant.
I wish to state unambiguously that It is our walk with God that validates our work for Him.
As a believer, one’s sacrosanctity shouldn’t be shouldered on one’s unceasing presence at the church or on one’s tireless work for God, as I am not unmindful of the truth that one can be working for God, yet veiled from recognizing Himโwalking with Him. And this, to God, is highly unacceptable.
Having highlighted that, the question that begs an answer hence is: what then should be one’s first priority as a believer?
Noteworthily, establishing a walk with God, should be all believers first priority. And what does it mean, in finality, to walk with God? It can’t be gainsaid that walking with God means birthing a personal relationship, and sustaining a fellowship with God. Additionally, walking with God speaks walking in His will and purpose for our life.
For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13 AMP
When one walks with God, one will definitely work for Him because there is tandem between walking with God and working for God as against working for God and walking with God. The former is sacrosanct because there is no way you will walk with God and not work for Him.
As a believer, one’s primary aim should be centred and tailored at establishing a personal walk with God. The secondary–registering one’s presence at the church and sanitizing the church on Sundays and Saturdays respectively–can dress subsequence.
One should not be brainwashed spiritually. It is the established relationship with God that causes Him to recognize and reward our work(actuated by genuine service) for Him
For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown for His name in ministering to [the needs of] the saints (Godโs people), as you do. Hebrews 6:10 AMP
Hear this, a man who develops an immeasurable penchant for his work for God, but fails to entrench the ditto for his walk with God, cannot remain faithful in what he develops penchant for- his work for God. But be aware, a man that walks with God, will in perpetuity, work for God, because, what emboldens his work for God is unwrapped in his fellowship with God
Sufficient hence to conclude objectively that one’s walk with God (not one’s work for God) guarantees one’s eternity with God.
