At The Twinkle Of An Eye

Some couple of years ago during my first decade years on earth, there was a particular nursery rhyme we enjoy reciting and also dance along on, its very much well known by almost all kids right from that period up till this very years we run in, the short poem reads, ‘Tick says the clock tick, tick, what you have to do, do quick’. Back then as a child who only catches fun at the recitation and sound of its readings, I felt little or no meaning to this sentence other than play. But, with the wave of time, its deep message and inscriptions were at an open space revealing itself all wide.

Being on this earth is not just a coincidence, for our existence on this planet is being programmed and backed up by God Himself. Each facet of our life right from childhood to youthful session down to adulthood are well planner by the creator. Great accomplishments has been set for us to every facet, and failing to nick it at its right moment implies a total miss. Our journey on this earth might seems long to us but we should be in remembrance that as much as we grow so we are moving closer to our death – grave. If we are to live 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 120, 150 years on earth, at the twinkle of an eye, it will surely come to an end.

As we move into another round of calendar, it should be recorded at the back of our mind that our days on earth is decreasing, what we have to do should be done as quick as possible. The procrastination we engage in the previous year which profit us not should be dumped, killed and buried as ‘procrastination is a thief of time’, what should be done today should be done today, what must be reach this week, this year, must not be left untouched till the following week or another year, procrastinating what must be done right now to another time depicts mismanagement of time and also make one fail in doing what should have been done.

Time waits for no one, at the twinkle of an eye, a day is gone, at the twinkle of an eye, a month is over. At the twinkle of an eye, the year 2021 will be gone, kindly make hay while the sun shines, the time you are meant to engage in something is always the right and perfect time for you to set into it, doing this makes it useful and profitable to whosoever and whatever it’s relevant to. Time which when lost can never be regain sends coding message that when you leave what’s meant to be done now to another time, this time left unused cannot be recovered, it’s gone for life. It’s better to do something with extra time than finding extra time to do something.

However, setting right into a new year calls for a well drawn out plan on how to run the year’s affairs in a timely manner. There should be goal setting and ways to achieve these goals, we should know what must be added to our life and things we must have achieved before the year runs out. The year might consist of 365 days, you might be thinking that number of days is quite is quite a whole lot but mind you, a year which is 365 days is just 31,536,000 seconds and out of these seconds, we’ve spent some which we cannot regain anymore. At the twinkle of an eye, these disguised large figures will come down to zero, ‘as you lay your bed, so you lie on it.’

By setting goals, you are providing yourself with a target to aim for. One of the useful guide that helps in goal setting and attaining is the SMART goals. SMART is an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. ‘Specific’ implies that such a goal must be well defined, clear and unambiguous. In terms of ‘Measurable’, there must be some specific criteria that measure your progress toward the accomplishment of the goal. Such goal must be attainable and not impossible to achieve which reflects to ‘Achievable’. The goal must be ‘Realistic’ in sense that it should be within ones reach, realistic, and relevant to one’s life progress. It must be ‘Time Bound’ as it should be tagged with a clearly defined timeline.

Only those who show forth the zeal to be great and manage their time well will gain the profit at the end of the year’s race, ‘heavens only help those who help themselves’. Through your determination, dedication and strong notion to achieve new and awesome credibility, help will surely come from above to strengthen you and replenish your energy to carry it on and achieve your aims and objectives without a waste of time. At the twinkle of an eye, extraordinary things manifest. Also, at the twinkle of an eye, the result for mismanagement of time come visiting.

You think your last year was a bad year you want to erase from your life diary and delete its effects off your life, worry not, with proper plans and help from the creator, you shall smile at the end of the year. Oh! Your last year was one to revisit and be glad about, but forget not that this year can bring forth ten time last year’s profit, all you need to do is double your input and be more creative, with heaven smiles you will laugh one thousand times better than last year. As ticks says the clock, manage your time well, dump procrastination and what you have to do, do it quick because at the twinkle of an eye, time flies.
