PERSISTENCY : A MAJOR ROUTE TO SUCCESS

In persistency they say lies the key.. I have heard this several times, but I never felt it applies to me, because I feel like it doesn’t work for me, I get tired of doing it, It won’t produce the result I want. As a result of my lack of patience and not being satisfied with the results I am getting, I decided to take into consideration what it means to persist, tho somewhere in my heart I used to believe I was. In my quest on persistency, I realized it was more than I thought. In this article, I will be sharing some of my findings and perceptions on what it means to persist, how to persist and acquiring desired results.

What is persistency? It is the act of continuing in an opinion or course in spite of difficulty or opposition. Persistency is staying through until you get the desired result you want. Persistency is obstinately refusing to give up or let go. From my quest in what persistency entails, I realized I was never persistent. Just as many others, I wanted instant results, I wanted instant manifestations, but I was never ready to go thought the pains, I was never ready to go through the sacrifice of staying there and paying attention to what I needed to know. I forgot there was a process.

This will lead me to some of the reasons why people fail to persist, why do they fail to stay through. The act of not being patient. This reminds me of a friend, she started a business without considering what was in demand and without desire to meet people’s need, she wanted something that would yield her profit than she was ready to work for but failed to realize there is another side of studying what is in demand and how to meet the demands of the people. It took her less then a month before she packed up the business, why? People were not patronizing her, she was not patient to put her business out to people, she expected them to just know about the business automatically and patronize her immediately. Impatience is one major key to not being persistent because many wants instant result.

Another reason why people fail to persist is their lack of conviction, many are not convinced of what they want, they just want to do what others are doing to be among. It’s funny that some are doing what they do to satisfy their parents. People who lacks conviction takes the middle of the road, guess what happens in the middle of the road? You get run over. Reports have shown that quite a number of people suffers from low self esteem (self image). Deep down in some people, they feel they don’t have the faith or ability to pull of a great victory, they see their desired results as being far from them and they are ready to give up at the first sign of difficulty without trying to push through.

Having known what it means to persist, reasons why people fail to persist, the next question in your mind right now is, How do I persist? Knowing what you want can simply be termed as you setting goals and deep down in you, you are not ready to settle down for what does not look like your desired result and you’re not ready to give up until you get that particular result you want. Take time out to deliberate on what you want and be ready to push through without loosing focus.

Nothing succeeds on the wings of laziness. Be ready to face challenges, be ready to face obstacles but be rest assured that when you don’t give up and you PERSIST, those challenges will definitely be your stepping stones. Persistence is definitely the difference between a successful outcome and a failed one due to giving up. Failing does not mean you are a failure. Also, when things do not work out the way you want, take a pause! think of what you are not doing right, think of what didn’t work and how it could have worked better. Reevaluating will help you improve your current strategy.

There’s a greater joy that cones with being fulfilled, getting the desired result that you want and being fulfilling. Don’t be too blind to see that you have achieved what you want. Have a focused repetitive concentrated approach. Don’t consider giving up at any point in time. The secret of success lies in persistence. Persist in what must be done, resist what ought not to be done.
