The MEGA Vision; A Duty For All Edolites And Not Just Their Leaders By Comrade Obayuwana Bobby Eghosa

The Making Edo Great Again Initiative by Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki is not just a Manifesto that should be executed by government of the day only, but is a long term transformation vision and master plan that should be carried out by all well meaning Edolites withing and outside the shores of Edo State because there is no gainsaying that the Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki Led Administration has been very effective, efficient, profound, productive and proficient since his assumption of office right from his First Term in November 12,2016 to His Current Second Term in November 12,2020.

This current administration is poised towards guaranteeing equal opportunities for youths, men and women in Edo State by bringing the government closer to the people and carrying out projects that will benefit the Good People of Edo State who have clearly shown their unwavering love and support to this current administration that is working tirelessly in making sure that the Edo Masses get the dividends of democracy which is also part of the cardinal plans of Making Edo Great Again by the Action Basky Wake and See Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki who has been arguably described by many as not just the best Governor in Nigeria currently but One of the best Nigerian leaders in this 21st Century and dispensation.

In order to elucidate what the MEGA AGENDA portends for all well meaning Edolites and why they should make it come alive in Edo State through their support and contributions, it is important for us to know what it entails, what it seeks to achieve and what it has been producing in Edo State thus far.

The MEGA Agenda of the Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki Led administration is aimed at the following:
1. Sociopolitical and economic Inclusiveness of more vibrant Edo Youths in Political and Administrative Affairs of the State.

2. More Introduction of Science and Technology into our Basic, Secondary and Even Tertiary Educational Curriculum in the State as seen in the obvious case of Edo BEST, Edo SUBEB, Edo Institute of Management and Technology (USEN).

3. Infrastructural Reforms via the revamping of the famous Edo Civil Service Secretariat, the renovation of Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium which is now a world’s class’s facility that even has the only Video Assistant Referee (VAR) Technology currently in Nigeria.

4. Huge investment in Agriculture and agro based industries due to the stringent effects of the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic that is currently ravaging the world.

5. Training and Retraining of more medical and security personnel to help curb health and security challenges in Edo State.

6. The provision of more jobs to Edolites, especially in the Civil Service and Technological Sectors of the Economy in Edo State.

7. Improvement and Localization of the Power Sector from the Conventional BEDC Supply to the Innovative 55 Mega Watts OSSIOMO Power Plant that is currently used to light up the Civil Service Secretariat and the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium respectively, thereby making both staffs and Sports Athletes work and function effectively and Efficiently.

8. More Investment in the Sports Sector to revive most of its areas like football, tennis, swimming, basketball, volleyball, karate, tekwondo, judo and chess in Edo State. This has led to a lot of commendations from both Edo’s at home and in the Diaspora and more would be shown in April this year when the Edo State Government under the MEGA Agenda leadership of Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki would be Hosting the famous National Sports Festival at the International Standard Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin Metropolis.

9. Huge investment in culture and tourism like the famous Edo National Festival of Arts and Culture (Edo-NAFEST) Held in 2018 and the Alaghodaro Summit, which is an annual event that brings all well meaning Edolites from all works of life together under One Sociocultural Umbrella of Unity and Onesness, to discuss the way forward for the Edos, Edo as a State and Benin as a renowned worldwide Kingdom of its own.

The above are a well research work which helps to seek critical insight into what the Famous MEGA Agenda of Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki is all about.

10. Lastly, the recent ”Data To MEGA” Scheme whereby information from the different localities in the Three (3) Sentatorial Districts as we’ll as that of the Eighteen (18) Local Government Areas is another milestone in the Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki Led Administration which is aimed at identifying the predominant needs, wants and problems of the Good People of Edo State in the Grass Roots Sector and bring growth, development and stability of developmental strides and progress directly to their door steps. This will also help drive home the Making Edo Great Again Agenda, as it is very Democratic and Masses Oriented in nature and the Good People of Edo Strongly believe that this initiative justifies their Governor’s Social Intelligence of putting into practice, the transparent rules of social engagement of more Edolites in His Second Term Administration.

Furthermore, Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki has also reiterated His Administration’s commitment in engaging more of youths into technical education and skills acquisition that will enable them cope with the 21st Century job requirements, qualifications as well as its intricacies. Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki has also stated the need to incorporate more Edo Women into Active participation in Politics and Governance, as his passion to establish social justice in Edo State, stems from his believe in providing equity and equal opportunities for both Edo Men and Women to get involved in the healthy political competition via subsequent electioneering processes as well as that of campaigns. He made this known in the World Social Justice Day that is usually organized annually by the United Nations Organization alongside its allied group on the 21 of February, 2021.

Constant sensitization and conscientization of the Good People of Edo State in maintaining all the Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control and other allied matters (NCDC) guidelines against Corona Virus A.K.A ”COVID-19 Pandemic” has been very regular, effective and efficient when compared to other states in the Federal, as the isolation centres have been equipped with world class medical facilities and equipment as well as that of mobile clinics in order to cushion the effects of the dreaded disease that is currently in its Second Wave All over the world.

To this end, it is very crystal clear without bias, prejudice and a jaundiced perspective, that Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki means well for the Good People of Edo State and Is willing to Make Edo Great Again but we all must come together to support his Good Vision for Edolites by making sure that we contribute our meaningful quota towards the growth, development, security and sustainability of peace in our land.
