Insecurity: Buhari Charges Spiritual Leaders To Unite, Fight Terrorism
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Friday, charged religious leaders of all faiths and backgrounds to unite and support the fight against terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President made this call while speaking on the telephone with the Sultan of Sokoto, Saโad Abubakar lll.

The statement was titled โPresident Buhari urges spiritual leaders to mobilise people of all faiths to fight crimes.โ
The Sultan was said to have called to celebrate with the President on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the observance of the Eid-el-Fitr.
The statement read in part, โThe President called for continuous dialogue between the leaders of the two major faiths for peace and stability to reign in the country.
โPresident Buhari commended the Sultan for his effective leadership of the Muslim Ummah and credited him with the unity of the community sustained under his watch.โ
According to the statement, the Sultan reaffirmed his commitment to the continued existence of one Nigeria.
He said the Sultanate would continue to play its part in the ongoing effort to tackle the countryโs challenges.
