2023: How Lasun Escaped Death As Gunmen Attacked Residence In Osun

Hon Lasun Yusuf, the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate for the July 16th governorship election, narrowly avoided being slain in the early hours of the morning by unidentified gunmen who attacked his residence in Ilobu, Irepodun Local Government Area, Osun state.

As of the time of writing, information about the attack was still hazy. According to sources, the gunmen attacked his home around 2 a.m., but were repelled vigorously by his security guards, who engaged them in a hard battle.

When contacted, his media aide, Mr Oyewole Oladimeji, confirmed the occurrence.

Meanwhile, Lasun, on a radio programme in Osogbo on Monday, openly alleged that the attack on his house was organised by the Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, who was intent on eliminating him from the gubernatorial race.

But the press secretary to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Ismail Omipidan, has said that Lasun Yusuf, the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in the Osun gubernatorial election, is no threat to his principal’s second term ambition.
