Tinubu To Launch Students’ Loan Programme February 21st

President Bola Tinubu is set to launch the Student Loan Scheme on February 21 at the State House, Abuja.

Polity Reporters reports that this initiative, stemming from the Access to Higher Education Act, aims to provide interest-free loans for indigent students across Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The launch will coincide with the opening of applications nationwide, as confirmed by Dr. Akintunde Sawyerr, the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund.

The scheme, initially proposed for September, faced delays but is now scheduled for a February rollout.

The President has allocated N50 billion for its commencement in the 2024 budget, Polity Reporters can confirm.
