JUST IN: WAEC Releases WASSCE Results, 44.29% Score Credit In Five Subjects

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC has announced the release of the results for the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates nationwide.

According to Moyosola Adesina, the acting Head of Public Affairs for WAEC Nigeria, only 46,267 out of the 80,904 candidates who sat for the exam obtained a minimum of five credits.

Adesina stated that this represents 57.19% of candidates achieving credit and above in at least five subjects, with or without English Language and/or Mathematics.

Also, 35,830 candidates, accounting for 44.29%, achieved credit and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

The examination took place in Nigeria from October 27, 2023, to December 20, 2023, with coordination and marking conducted at seven venues across Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, Benin, Enugu, Uyo, and Kaduna.

A total of 85,600 candidates registered for the examination, marking a 10.07% increase compared to the 2022 entry figure. Out of these, 80,904 candidates sat for the examination across 568 centers nationwide.

Furthermore, 211 candidates with various special needs were registered for the examination, with provisions made for their adequate participation.

Candidates are advised to check their results on the WAEC website and access their digital certificates through the Digital Certificate platform.
