FG to Launch NYSC-Style Training for NCE Graduates

The Ministry of Youth Development has announced plans to introduce a national service training program for Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) graduates, similar to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme for university graduates.

Minister of State for Youth Development, Mr. Olawande Wisdom, made the announcement at the BEMORE OYO 2024 Summer Bootcamp in Ibadan on Monday.

The program is designed to provide NCE holders with opportunities for national service within their states, without requiring relocation.

The ministry is working with the Ministry of Education to implement training reforms that cater for a broader spectrum of Nigerian youth.

Wisdom stressed the importance of reviving citizenship training programs to instill discipline and responsibility among young Nigerians.

The announcement was made during the opening of the BEMORE OYO 2024 Summer Bootcamp, a program focused on empowering girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
