Super Eagles Get New Boss

German tactician Bruno Labbadia has been appointed as the new head coach of the Nigerian menโ€™s national team, the Super Eagles.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced Labbadiaโ€™s appointment on Tuesday, concluding the long search for a new leader for the former African champions.

In a statement released on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, the NFF confirmed that the German coach will take charge of the Super Eagles immediately.

โ€œGerman Bruno Labbadia becomes the 37th Head Coach of the @NGSuperEagles,โ€ the NFF stated.

โ€œThe Nigeria Football Federation has reached an agreement with German tactician Bruno Labbadia to lead Nigeriaโ€™s Senior Men National Team, the Super Eagles.

NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi stated early Tuesday: โ€œThe NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to appoint Mr. Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles.

โ€œThe appointment takes effect immediately.โ€

The Super Eagles have been without a coach since former Ajax winger Finidi George stepped down after a brief tenure.
