Outrage as Nigerians Demand Arrest of Canada-Based Woman Inciting Violence
A Canada-based Nigerian woman, Amaka Patience Sunnberger, is facing calls for her arrest and prosecution after a viral TikTok video showed her inciting violence and calling for the death of Nigerians of Yoruba and Benin descent.
The Director-General of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has identified the woman and revealed that Nigerian groups in Canada have reported her to the authorities.
Nigerians on social media are demanding Sunnberger’s arrest and prosecution, fearing she may carry out her threats if not apprehended.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for tolerance and an end to ethnic bigotry.
The authorities have begun a probe into the video, and Sunnberger’s TikTok account has been deleted.
Nigerians are urging the authorities to take swift action against Sunnberger and her accomplices, citing a similar case in 2022 where a Nigerian was sentenced to prison in the UK for inciting racial hatred.
