Stand Firm Against Online Narratives Questioning God’s Existence — Pastor Olufemi Olutayo-Salawu Urges Christians

Pastor Olufemi Olutayo-Salawu of CAC Revival Centre, Ibadan, in an exhortation, addressed the growing skepticism about the existence of God, calling on Christians to reaffirm their faith and resist misleading narratives circulating online.

He stated this yesterday during the Eni Ba Dake Prayer program held at the church’s auditorium in Apata, Ibadan.

Recall that the media space has been flooded with different anti-God narratives that question the existence and potency of God, with many holding the beliefs that one doesn’t need God to prosper or excel in every endeavour.

Reacting to this development directed at undermining belief in God’s existence and power, Pastor Olufemi Olutayo-Salawu said that the omnipresence and omnipotence attributes of God remain intact, buttressing that “What God cannot do doesn’t exist.”

The man of God reminded the congregation that God remains everlasting, and His power to heal and deliver remains unchanged, just as it was in biblical times.

Quoting from the Bible, he referenced Jeremiah 32:27 to reinforce that there is nothing too hard for God to do, and added from Matthew 19:26 that “With men, it’s impossible, but with God, all things are possible.”

He, however, stressed that the depth of God’s intervention in one’s life is directly linked to their relationship and faith in Him, lamenting that many Christians no longer serve God with the same fervor as before, even though God remains ever faithful and constant.

He attributed the growing decline in faith to humans’ diminished devotion to God and increased reliance on human wisdom and education which can lead to doubts about God’s existence.

The servant of God, therefore, warned against the growing belief that human wisdom or educational achievements can overshadow the sovereignty of God.

He buttressed this by sharing a personal experience, contrasting the struggles of a first-class graduate with the success of someone less academically qualified, attributing the latter’s success to divine favour.

The pastor stressed that no human effort can truly succeed without God’s involvement, reinforcing the message that “Except the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain that build it.”

While he noted that it’s good to be diligent, he noted that material success without God’s blessing often leads to emptiness.

He concluded by blaming some misguided so-called “men of God,” whose actions and inactions have allowed doubts about God’s existence and potency to spread unchecked.
