NFF Names Eguavoen As Super Eagles Boss

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced Augustine Eguavoen as the interim head coach of the Super Eagles, following the collapse of negotiations with Bruno Labbadia.

Eguavoen will lead the team in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic on September 7th in Uyo and Rwanda on September 10th in Kigali.

This marks Eguavoen’s fourth stint in charge of the Super Eagles, having previously managed the team from 2005-2007, 2010, and 2022.

The NFF’s decision comes after Labbadia’s appointment was thwarted by stringent German tax regulations.
