Lookman Makes History As Only African Nominee for 2024 Ballon d’Or (See Full List)
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has been nominated for the 2024 men’s Ballon d’Or award.
France Football Magazine announced the list of 30 nominees on Wednesday, with Lookman being the only African player selected.

The 26-year-old Atalanta player had an impressive season, scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists.
He played a crucial role in Atalanta’s historic Europa League win and helped the Super Eagles reach the Africa Cup of Nations final.
Notable absentees from the list include eight-time winner Lionel Messi and five-time winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
The list is dominated by players from Spain’s Euro 2024-winning team and Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League-winning squad.
