Why Fuel Price Hike Won’t Affect Edo Guber Election — INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured that the recent fuel price hike will not impact the conduct of the Edo governorship election.

Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, stated this during a pre-election news conference in Abuja on Saturday.

Oyekanmi revealed that INEC is meeting with the National Union of Road Transport Workers to address the issue, ensuring transporters don’t operate at a loss.

He also highlighted measures to prevent prefilled result sheets and assured that results can’t be collated from polling units where elections don’t hold.

INEC has implemented security features on result sheets to prevent forgery and perfected its resource management process to tackle errant behavior.
