Prophet Jeremiah Replies NAFDAC

The Senior Prophet of Christ MercyLand Ministry, Jeremiah Fufeyin, has denied allegations that he used the name of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on spiritual items to deceive Nigerians.

In a statement issued by the church’s media outfit, MercyLand Television Deliverance Ministry, Fufeyin faulted a media report by a national daily online, which claimed that NAFDAC was investigating his “miracle water and soap.”

The statement, signed by Sophia Iloyd, described the publication as false and misleading, stressing that Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministry is a law-abiding Christian church that recognizes the extant laws of the land, including the NAFDAC Act.

The church asserted its right to freedom of religion, as guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and stated that it has been using spiritual items in expression of its religious beliefs.

Fufeyin denied using NAFDAC’s name to deceive the public, stating that the church has never produced or sold consumable items to members of the public.

The statement also revealed that the church is aware of a pending petition against it by one Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, who the church has sued before the FCT High Court.

Additionally, the church disclosed that it received a letter from NAFDAC’s Asaba Office inviting the Spiritual head of the church to discuss the church’s miracle and healing spiritual items.

However, the church expressed concern over the short notice given to it and officially communicated its position to NAFDAC.

The statement further alleged that the nominal complainant to NAFDAC forged the church’s receipts to bring a complaint before the agency.

The church also revealed that there is an ongoing police investigation into the forged receipts.

In conclusion, the church stated that NAFDAC has not written to it or provided feedback on these issues, despite its efforts to clarify the matter.
