JUST IN: DSS Raids SERAP Office in Abuja

Officers from the Department of State Services (DSS) have, in a shocking turn of events, invaded the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).

According to eyewitnesses, the DSS personnel arrived at the SERAP office and demanded to see the organization’s directors.

SERAP took to their Twitter handle to condemn the invasion, stating: “Officers from Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, asking to see our directors.”

The rights group further called on President Tinubu to intervene, saying: “President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation, and attack on the rights of Nigerians.”

The motivation behind the DSS’s actions are currently unclear, but the invasion has generated concerns about the erosion of civil liberties and the targeting of human rights organizations in Nigeria.
