Obasanjo Reveals Jimmy Carter’s Life-Saving Contribution
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has made a surprising revelation about the late former US President Jimmy Carter, stating that Carter contributed to why he is still alive today.
Obasanjo reflected on his friendship and fond memories with Carter, who passed away on December 29, 2024.
Obasanjo and Carter’s relationship dates back to 1978 when Carter first visited Nigeria during Obasanjo’s tenure as military Head of State.
Obasanjo ruled from February 1976 to October 1979 and later served as democratically elected President from May 1999 to May 2007.
The former President expressed his sadness over Carter’s passing, noting that Nigeria and the African continent have lost a friend.
Carter served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981 and was known for his advocacy for global democracy and public health.
