Rivers State Governor, Fubara Signs N1.1 Trillion 2025 Budget
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has signed the state’s N1.1 trillion 2025 budget into law, commending the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led State Assembly for their efforts.
The governor emphasized that the Assembly under Oko-Jumbo’s leadership is the only legitimate legislative body in the state.

Fubara also declared that Martins Amaewhule and 26 other lawmakers who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) can no longer be recognized as legislators.
He stated that their disqualification is “final and irreversible,” despite their recent attempts to reverse their decision.
The governor criticized the defected lawmakers’ allegiance to former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, with whom Fubara has been engaged in a prolonged political conflict.
Fubara expressed his determination to prioritize the state’s progress over political distractions, noting that no governor in Nigeria has endured the level of disrespect he has faced.
The 2025 budget, which comprises 12 sections, is designed to fund the state’s programs and initiatives through December 31, 2025.
