Ballon d’Or: Why I Voted Vinicius Jr — Salah

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has revealed he cast his vote for Vinicius Jr in the 2024 Ballon d’Or awards, despite not making the 30-man nominee shortlist himself.

Salah, widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top players, praised the Real Madrid forward, calling him the best player in the world.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Salah explained his choice, saying, “Vinicius Jr is a very good player. He’s improving every year, and I hope he keeps it up. I voted for him because he deserves it.”

However, Salah’s support wasn’t enough to secure Vinicius the award.

Manchester City midfielder Rodri claimed the prestigious prize in October, recognized for his outstanding performances, including his key role in City’s treble-winning season.
