Lagos Guber: Rhodes-Vivour Breaks Silence On Contesting In 2027

The 2023 Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has expressed interest in contesting the governorship election in 2027.

During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Rhodes-Vivour stated that he might contest for the governorship seat in 2027, saying โ€œBy God’s grace, yes.โ€

Rhodes-Vivour stressed his determination to become the governor of Lagos State, highlighting the need for unity among opposition parties to strengthen their chances of success in future elections.

According to him, โ€œ a united opposition is crucial in combating the full state capture happening in this country now.โ€

Recall that in the 2023 governorship election, Rhodes-Vivour came second, polling 312,329 votes behind Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s 762,134 votes.

For now, his focus is on building a strong Labour Party, stating that โ€œmy job is to ensure that I have a strong party. โ€
