Gaza: Trump Threatens Hamas, Gives Condition
The incoming President of the United States, US, Donald Trump has issued a warning to Hamas over its refusal to release hostages in Gaza.
Trump warned that โall hell will break out in the Middle Eastโ if those held hostage are not released by his Inauguration Day.
About 100 hostages, including some Americans, who were captured on October 7, 2023 have remained captive in Gaza.
However, addressing a press conference at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, Trump said: โAll hell will break out. If those hostages arenโt back, I donโt want to hurt your negotiation. If theyโre not back by the time I get into office, all hell will break out in the Middle East.โ
Trump will be sworn in on January 20 as the 47th President of the US.
The US president-electโs Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steven Charles Witkoff, also informed reporters that they are on the verge of it.
โI believe weโve been on the verge of it. I donโt want to discuss sort of whatโs delayed it, no point in being negative in any way.
โBut I think itโs the president, his stature, what heโs said he expects, the red lines heโs put out there, thatโs driving this negotiation.
โI actually believe that weโre working in tandem in a really good way, but itโs the president, his reputation, the things that he has said that are driving this negotiation. So hopefully itโll all work out and weโll save some lives,โ Witkoff said.
