AEDC Gives Reason For Power Outage In Abuja
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has announced another power outage in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Disco on Friday disclosed in a statement on X that there will be power disruption in parts of Abuja on Saturday 11th January, 2025, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
According to AEDC, the outage is due to a planned maintenance exercise by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, on its 60 megavolt-amperes TR1 (3KUB-TR1).
132/33 kilovolt Kubwa Transmission Substation.
The company said areas to be affected by the disruption are Dawaki, Duste, Bwari, Kubwa, and Deidei and environs.
โThis is to inform customers in Dawaki, Duste, Bwari, Kubwa, Deidei, and
its environs that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will be conducting a maintenance exercise on the 6OMVA-TR1(3KUB-TR1) 132/33kV Kubwa TS.This maintenance will commence on Saturday, January 11, 2025, between 10 am and 3 pm,โ the statement reads.
AEDC has earlier announced a two-week power outage in parts of Abuja that started on Monday, 6th January, 2025.
Meanwhile, electricity customers in the nationโs capital had expressed displeasure over the power disruptions.
