Oyo House Of Reps Hopeful Bibire Greets Christians As Lent Begins

Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, founder of the Hope Also Need Help Foundation, has urged the Christian faithful to pray fervently for the growth, development, progress, and economic prosperity of Nigeria as the Lenten season begins today, Wednesday, Match 5, 2025.

In a statement he signed and forwarded to Polity Reporters this morning, the first-class philanthropist described the above demands as essential to improve the quality of life and overall welfare of all Nigerians.

He furthered that this period is a time for deep reflection on personal values and national issues to promote a more just and equitable society.

He, therefore, urged christians to use this very period to examine their actions and contribute to building a working polity.

Bibire who described Lent as a time of fasting, penitence, and spiritual renewal in anticipation of the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, stressed that it should also serve as an opportunity for them to evaluate the state of the nation and seek meaningful change.

While reinforcing the message that faith should unite rather than divide, Bibire pointed out that the concurrent observance of Lent and Ramadan this year presents a unique opportunity for Christians and Muslims to come together in prayer for the good of the country.

He equally encouraged people of all religious backgrounds to use this season to promote love, kindness, and mutual support, following the examples set by Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed.

The Oyo House of Reps hopeful also used the opportunity to urge the good people of Oyo State to remain committed to the progress of the Engr. Seyi Makinde-led administration, which he commended for redefining leadership and governance in Oyo State.

Bibire congratulated Christians all across the world, most especially in Ibadan Southwest and Northwest Federal Constituency on witnessing another season of spiritual devotion and prayed that they continue to experience many more in good health, peace, and prosperity.
