Bibire Celebrates Hon. Akande’s One Year into Second Term, Says Ibadan Southwest Has Witnessed Responsible Leadership

Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro, popularly and politically known as Bibire, has congratulated the Chairman of Ibadan Southwest Local Government, Honourable Kehinde Adeyemi Akande, for what he described as “four meaningful years of responsible leadership rooted in the well-being of the people.”

He made this commendation in a congratulatory statement he signed and made available to Polity Reporters today, Sunday.

According to Bibire, “the fine accomplishments recorded under Honourable Akande’s leadership during the first four years have not only been sustained, but have become even more evident in the lives of the people during this second tenure.”

He described the glowing remarks expressed by residents of Ibadan Southwest as a natural response to a kind of leadership that listens, responds, and remains committed to public good.

In his words, “what is unfolding in Ibadan Southwest is the presence of a chairman who understands the weight of leadership and has considerably demonstrated a clear readiness to remain steadfast in his commitment to public service.”

Bibire added that the impact of Hon. Akande’s administration has become visible through undeniable improvements in essential services, community welfare, and broad-based development initiatives.

He stressed that development in Ibadan Southwest is not an abstract idea but something people can point to in their neighbourhoods and feel in their daily realities.

He added that it is clear Honourable Akande pays utmost attention to the immediate needs of the people and responds promptly, which is why the effects of his leadership are being felt across key sectors, and every nook and cranny of the local government.

As a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party from Ibadan Southwest and Northwest Federal Constituency, Bibire commended Akande for his consistency in governance, describing his leadership as one that is conscious, and responsive.

He established that such continuity and drive, especially after completing a first term, deserve recognition because it is often tempting to lose momentum once re-election is secured.

He observed that what is happening in Ibadan Southwest is different, where efforts have not ceased and development has not stalled but instead, attention to people’s needs has remained a priority.

Bibire expressed confidence that, judging by the current trajectory, the local government will continue to experience growth that is both people-driven and sustainable.

Bibire pledged his continued support and that of the Bibire Peoples Vision Association for every effort geared towards development and progress at the grassroots

He stated that celebrating this first year into the second term is meaningful because the past four years have laid a strong foundation that gives hope for even greater achievements ahead.
