Bibire Commends Makinde on Air Force School, Airport Road Project & Security Support, Declares Total Support

Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for commissioning the Nigerian Air Force School of Finance and Accounts in Ibadan, and for the ongoing infrastructural development around the Ibadan Airport, describing the efforts as deliberate and timely interventions that speak to the needs of the people and security personnel in Oyo State.

He disclosed this in a statement he made available to Polity Reporters today, Friday.

Bibire, who is a retired US Navy veteran, applauded the support of the governor for men in uniform and his consistent interest in reinforcing security frameworks in the state.

“We must commend the governor for his laudable efforts. Security is not a matter to be treated with half measures, and what he has done by supporting the Nigerian Air Force and providing infrastructure around the base is a demonstration of responsible governance,” he said.

He added that the support made available to the Nigerian Air Force and other security outfits was not accidental but what he defined as “a reflection of proper planning and understanding of developmental priorities.”

Bibire remarked, “No society progresses without a secured environment. What the governor has done will greatly strengthen the morale of the men in uniform and improve the working atmosphere for them, which in turn benefits the people.”

He continued that Oyo is lucky to have a governor whose leadership continues to match words with action, pointing to the N500 million support given to the Air Force and the conscious plan to ease movement to the base.

“Many leaders promise security support in speech, but our governor has shown it in deeds,” he stated.

Speaking further, he praised the decision to dualise the road from Ife Road Junction to the Air Force Base and to link it directly to the Airport Road, noting that the move shows clear intention to make the base accessible and the airport more viable.

He also expressed delight that the state government did not ignore the strategic development of the Ibadan Airport, which he described as a major economic and regional hub.

“The ongoing work at the airport revalidates the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration as a forward-thinking administration. It means more opportunities, more investors, and a stronger place for Ibadan on the map of development,” Bibire said.

Speaking as the Convener of the government-registered Bibire Peoples Vision Association, Bibire reaffirmed the commitment of the pro-people association to the progress of Oyo State, and pledged unflinching support to the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.

“We are proud of the Governor’s performance and we stand with him in the effort to make Oyo State safer and more prosperous.

“On behalf of all members of the Bibire Peoples Vision Association, I express our total and unflinching support for His Excellency.”

Bibire concluded with a call for continued collaboration between government and the people, urging citizens to appreciate and support good works wherever they find them.

“When leaders do well, it is not out of place for the people to say so. Hence, let us not be slow to show encouragement where it is due,” he ended.
