Boko Haram Use Better Ammunition Than Soldiers – Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said that Boko Haram members are not hungry people, stressing that they sometimes use better ammunition than the Nigerian Army.

Jonathan made this statement on Friday at the launch of the ‘Scars: Nigeria’s Journey and the Boko Haram Conundrum’, a new book authored by Lucky Irabor, former Chief of Defence Staff.

“Boko Haram started in 2009 when I was the Vice-President to the late Yar’Adua. Even when I took over power in 2010 as president, I battled with it until I left office in 2015.

“I thought immediately I left, within a reasonable time, late President Muhammadu Buhari was going to wipe them out but till today, Boko Haram is still here. So the issue of Boko Haram becomes more complex.

“When you wonder where these guns and sophisticated weapons are coming from, you see that external hands are also involved, especially when I was president,” he said.
