Elon Musk Exits Trump’s Administration After Criticizing Tax Bill

US billionaire, Elon Musk, has announced his exit from president Donald Trump’s administration.
Recall that Elon Musk was appointed in November 2024, as a senior advisor to the United States president, Donald Trump and the de facto head of the Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE.
However, in an X post on Wednesday night, Musk explained that his time scheduled for the political appointment had ended.
Announcing his departure, Musk appreciated Trump for giving him the opportunity to serve in his government.
He wrote; “As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending.
“@DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”
According to reports by Reuters, Musk exited the US government without formal conversation with Trump.
Musk’s announcement came hours after criticising Trump’s new tax bill on Tuesday.
