I Didn’t Betray Wike – Tambuwal
Sokoto South Senator, Aminu Tambuwal, has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as his friend.
Tambuwal made the remark while stressing that he did not betray Wike during the presidential primary of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2022.

During the primary election, Tambuwal stepped down and supported former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a move that led to Atiku emerging as the party’s flag bearer.
However, featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Tambuwal said: “If Atiku comes in here today and Wike comes in here and requests for this my phone, my personal phone, I will give it to Wike because he is my friend.
“I never betrayed Wike, my friend met me in the presidential convention then. He gave me the indication that he would run and he knew that I was running.
“It’s not betrayal, when you say betrayal is when you have an understanding and you go against the understanding.”
