“One Of Our Goals Is To Render Service To Humanity” — Director, Team Goddybest

Ms OnaOpemipo Animasaun, Director of Team Goddybest, said on Sunday that one of the driving forces propelling the team’s many activities is the desire to serve humanity.

She made this disclosure while addressing questions from Polity Reporters about the team’s humanitarian visit to an orphanage home on Sunday, as well as her stewardship as the team’s Director.

The following is however the dialogue that played out during the brief interview session she had with Polity Reporters.

Polity Reporters: Ma, good evening. Could we meet you briefly?

Director Team Goddybest: I am OnaOpemipo Animasaun, a 400level student in the University of Ibadan.

Polity Reporters: Thanks for that ma.
It is not hidden from the public space that Team Goddybest has had a great deal of success in every endeavour that the team has undertaken. And as the Director, you want to reveal to us, the secret behind these incredible feats?

Director Team Goddybest: Firstly, I am grateful to the convener for entrusting me with the affairs of the team.
I will say it has been God all the way. We propose while God disposes as he wills. Another major secret of the successful outcome of our events is adhering with the vision of the team and ensuring that everything we do come is successful.
As the director, it is my duty to ensure that every team member gets to know what is happening in the team, receives updates about the team’s activities, assign duties as needed, overlooking the inadequacies of team members, and covering up for them when there is a default. These and many more are accomplished with the help of other executive members of the team.

Polity Reporters: Beautiful one. A Director makes a team Unique. Can you tell us about your achievements so far, since assuming office?

Director Team Goddybest: Upon my assumption in office, I must say that the team has taken a new turn. Things are being done with so much deliberateness. I was able to organize a successful orientation program for the current 100level students of the university alongside the Academic director of the team. We also started a weekly tutorial for those who were interested before the emergence of the strike. We have also been able to plan a successful skill acquisition program for the students in the university in partnership with the student’s union. Also, having people in a team is key, the welfare of your team member is also important, I have also been able to ensure regular check up on the members of the team to ensure everyone is fine. And, I am also grateful to God for the success of our just completed orphanage visit. With many other things to be done while still in office.

Polity Reporters: Fantastic. Highly Commendable. These are amazing feats. Can you tell us about any further plans you have for the team before your stint as director ends?

Director Team Goddybest: Currently working on getting the teams constitution alongside some executive members and the convener. Planning to organize a seminar for the team members and also the general public. Organize the second edition of the skill acquisition program. Planning to ensure the team has her own account. And also, make plans for an examination program for the students.

Polity Reporters: Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Team Goddybest paid a humanitarian visit to an orphanage home today. What are your thoughts on this?

Director Team Goddybest: We are grateful to God for making it a success.
One of the goals of the team is rendering service to humanity, and I am glad we were able to do that in our own little way today. The visit was memorable because we were able to donate relief packages to the orphanage home, play games with the children, and taught them.

Polity Reporters: Lovely. As a director of a renowned team that is clearly progressing, you want to offer advice to other directors who may be facing difficult circumstances to the point of quitting.

Director Team Goddybest: Leading and directing people is a great work, you can’t necessarily expect everyone on your team to be zealous as you are. You basically have to understand your team members and know what works best for your team.
Things will definitely come up, just be prepared for anything!
