Osun2022: Why I Endorsed Oyetola — Oluwo Of Iwo Reveals

Oba Abdul-Rasheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo, ordered his people on Sunday to cast bloc ballots for Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in the next governorship election.
According to him, he was canvassing support for Oyetola, the All Progressives Congress candidate, because he anticipated Iwo would be given the opportunity to produce governor once the incumbent finished his second term in 2026.
The monarch said, “I have a dream and a mission and my dream is for this place to produce the state governor come 2026. This governor has done his own. I want to use this as a prayer point for Iwo to produce the next governor in 2026.
“I will deliver my block votes for Oyetola. I’m declaring for him and I’m also calling on the people of Iwo to go and give their block votes to Oyetola. We must give at least, 90,000 votes to Oyetola from Iwo. We are registering more but right now, we have over 90,000 votes and I want all of them to go to Oyetola.
“We have to give our vote to Oyetola for the future of Iwo. We are not voting for Oyetola but the future of Iwo to have a chance at governorship. We’ve never had it and we want to have it in 2026.”
