Oyo @50: Fagbenro-Bibire Celebrates Fijabi’s Appointment As Planning Committee Chairman, Praises Makinde

Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro Bibire, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, has described Honourable Saheed Fijabi as most fitting for his recent appointment by Governor Seyi Makinde as the Chairman of the Oyo State @ 50 Anniversary Planning Committee.

Polity Reporters recalls that Oyo State was created on February 3, 1976 by the military government of the late General Murtala Mohammed after it was carved out of the old Western State during a nationwide state creation exercise to bring governance closer to the people and promote balanced regional development.

In a statement signed by him but issued to Polity Reporters, Bibire said that the appointment of Hon. Fijabi is an affirmation of his intellectual depth, leadership qualities, and wealth of experience which make him capable of leading the planning committee to deliver a successful anniversary celebration.

This was as he confessed that Hon. Fijabi is a deep and meticulous person.

The unparalleled philanthropist noted that having served creditably as a member of the Federal House of Representatives and with his strong grasp of his field, Fijabi will be able to mobilize all necessary wherewithal to make the 50th anniversary a resounding success.

The retired US Navy veteran also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his inclusive style of leadership which made it possible for someone who is not even a member of his political party to be appointed as chairman of the planning committee.

He said this is the kind of leadership Nigeria needs across every sphere if the country truly wants to move forward from its current state.

The US IT specialist added that “when we say Governor Seyi Makinde should become the next president of Nigeria, we know exactly what we are saying.”

Bibire who hails from the same Ibadan Southwest and Northwest Federal Constituency as Fijabi said he greatly admires his intellectual contributions.

He described Fijabi as a true pride of the federal constituency and expressed enough confidence that, as chairman of the planning committee, he will exceed expectations and make the constituency proud.

The leading House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan Southwest and Northwest Federal Constituency prayed for God’s wisdom, guidance, and strength for the former lawmaker as he begins the new assignment.
