An Exclusive Interview With Pastor Tobi Olorunesan: Here’s What He Said About The Revived Youth Movement

The Revived Youth Movement continues to gain attention across the country for its strong spiritual impact among the youths.

Yesterday, October 22, 2025, the Editorial Board of the Revived Youth Movement had an insightful conversation with Pastor Tobi Olorunesan, the visionary behind the movement.

He spoke deeply and passionately about how it all started, the mission and vision driving it, the journey so far, the challenges faced, the testimonies recorded, what to expect from upcoming programs like Grace and Glory, and the future plans that God has placed in his heart.

Below is the engaging conversation that unfolded:

Editorial Board: Good afternoon, sir. May we meet you?

Pastor Tobi: Thank you very much. My name is Pastor Tobi Olorunesan. I am a passionate lover of youths with a mission to bring back many who have strayed away back into the light of the Kingdom. I am privileged to be one of the vessels God is using at this time to draw the youths closer to Him through the Revived Youth Movement. My prayer is that the Lord will continue to grant me the grace to do more for His Kingdom.

 

Editorial Board: Can you share with us how the vision for the Revived Youth Movement started?

Pastor Tobi: Thank you for that question. The vision for the Revived Youth Movement started about three years ago. Before then, I was already involved in several youth-focused programs in our church branch, doing a lot to build and strengthen young people. I never planned to have this kind of movement.

 

It all began in 2022 during the popular Oluwa Yi Ose program in Ijebu Ode. I remember it was on a Monday when the Lord spoke clearly to me and said, “Go and start this.” I wrote it down immediately. At that time, I only heard the words Revived Youth but was not sure of what the “M” stood for. I wrote “Ministry,” but after much prayer and communion with God, I received confirmation that it was “Movement,” not “Ministry.”

 

Even then, I didn’t feel ready to start. A month later, I went to my spiritual father, Pastor Olufemi Olutayo-Salawu, and before I finished explaining, he told me to go and start. That gave me confidence that it was indeed what God wanted. When it was time to launch, I told him I wanted to begin with a worship program, but he advised me to pray more. During that prayer, God spoke again and instructed that I should begin with intercessory prayer.

 

That was how the intercessory prayer came into existence. Initially, I tried to resist because I felt weak and unprepared for such a huge assignment, but God gave me the grace to obey. Since then, He has been faithful, and everything He told me about the mandate of the movement has continued to unfold beautifully.

 

Editorial Board: Why the name Revived Youth Movement? What does it mean to you personally, and how does it differ from Revived Youth Rescue Movement?

Pastor Tobi: The Revived Youth Movement is the divine task God gave me to bring youths into His Kingdom for spiritual training and transformation so that they can shine as lights in every sector of life. The Revived Youth Rescue Movement, on the other hand, is one of the yearly missions we carry out to achieve this vision. Right now, we are focused on the rescue phase, but as time goes on, God will lead us into other phases.

Editorial Board: How has the journey been so far? Can you tell us about the highs and lows?

Pastor Tobi: Aaahhhhhhhh. It has not been easy, but the grace of God has kept us going. The Grace of God brings the highs. There have been challenges, but the highs always outweigh the lows. Balancing my work in church and the movement was tough at first, but God gave me strength. When we began the intercessory prayers, God connected us to people outside Nigeria. It was beautiful, and the prayer sessions were powerful. Along the line, we slowed down a bit, and many people from home and abroad started asking if we had stopped. I told them we were only preparing to come back stronger, and that is exactly what God is doing now.

 

Editorial Board: RYM has organized several impactful programs over time. Could you help refresh our memory by walking us through them, from the very first up to where things currently stand?

Pastor Tobi: The very first was the Intercessory Prayer in July 2022, which also served as our launching. Then we held an online Love Intercessory Prayer on February 14, 2023, to mark Valentine’s Day. It was themed around God’s love, not worldly love, and we prayed for the youths and for Nigeria.

In June that same year, we had our first conference called Encounters. The following year, we held Activation in August, where we saw many destinies revived and purposes activated. In December 2024, we organized Heart Healing Hour, which was focused on restoring broken hearts. This year, we had Grace and Glory in September, and to God be the glory, each of these programs has birthed powerful testimonies.

 

Editorial Board: Can you share some of the testimonies or results the movement has recorded so far?

Pastor Tobi: There are many. Through this movement, countless youths have found direction, discovered purpose, and encountered God. Some are now leaders in their chosen fields. Many who had given up on themselves found strength again. We keep hearing new testimonies, and I believe God is just beginning.

Editorial Board: Let’s talk about the upcoming Grace and Glory program. What inspired this theme?

Pastor Tobi: Early this year, God revealed to me what He was set to do in the lives of the youths. I received confirmation from other men of God. The message was clear: youths need the grace of God to stand firm in this generation. Many believe they can succeed without God, but that is not true. Grace sustains, and glory follows grace. Grace is what we need now, while glory is what comes after living in grace.

God told me He would release His grace and glory upon everyone who attends the program. He also revealed that seven ministering angels would work with us to help fulfill this assignment. Initially, there were six, and later He told me He had added one more, making seven. These ministering angels are part of the divine forces helping us to reach the hearts of youths. Truly, we have seen the evidence of their work in the growing number of lives being changed.

Editorial Board: Who is this program ready for, and why should they not miss it?

Pastor Tobi: The program is mainly for young people who want to find purpose and achieve success in life. It is not limited to spiritual success alone but also includes success in academics, business, and career. We have seen people in different professions experience God’s favour through this movement. The program is open to every youth who wants to make impact and live for God. No one should miss it. God is ready to raise men and women who will reflect His Grace and Glory in every area of life.

Editorial Board: There has been a lot of anticipation. Behind the scenes, how has the preparation journey been for you and your team?

Pastor Tobi: To God be the glory, preparations have been going smoothly. God has been faithful in providing everything we need. God has given us grace to plan and strength to execute. We have been working hard as a team, setting structures, and putting proper plans in place. God has strengthened us all the way in handling logistics like transportation and coordination. We believe this year’s edition will be an unforgettable experience.

Editorial Board: For Someone attending for the first time, how would you describe the experience they’re likely to have?

Pastor Tobi: They should expect an encounter with the grace and glory of God. It is always an unforgettable experience. No one leaves the same way they came.

Editorial Board: RYM is expanding. Looking ahead, where do you see the Revived Youth Movement in the next few years by God’s grace?

Pastor Tobi: RYM is going global. We already have a presence in Cameroon and India, and by God’s grace, we will expand to the United States and other nations. This is a global vision, and I believe God will make it happen.

Editorial Board: What message do you have for young people out there who are struggling to find purpose or direction in Christ?

Pastor Tobi: My message is simple. Don’t miss any of our programs. The reason many young people still struggle is because they are not yet connected to what God is doing. When you join the movement, God reveals purpose to you. We have seen testimonies of many who joined the movement without purpose but later discovered it through divine encounters. It is not by our power, but by the One who gave the vision.

Editorial Board: Some youths believe they can succeed without God. What is your response to this mindset?

Pastor Tobi: You can achieve some things without God, but you can’t achieve everything without God. A lot of people out there are wealthy and rich, but they are not enjoying their wealth because they don’t have peace of mind. Many people can be successful, but every success without peace is not true success. The only one who can give you that peace to enjoy your success is Christ Jesus. You need God to have a fulfilled and purposeful life. If you want what has been committed to you to flourish, you need God. You can’t do without Him.

A lot of youths out there believe they can maneuver their way through life, but it won’t last. Yes, you can have some things, but you can’t have everything. That’s what many youths need to understand.

Editorial Board: Just like Jesus said, “Without me, you can do nothing.”

Pastor Tobi: Exactly. And the “nothing” he was talking about doesn’t mean you can’t do some things. The “no” there means “in everything.” The bible says “I can do all things in Christ …” We can do some things outside Jesus, but not all. The “all” there is talking about everything in general. So, to those who think they can do without Jesus, yes, you may do some things, but not all. To have access to the “all,” you need Christ.

Pastor Tobi: My final word is that no one should miss what God is doing in this end time. God is raising an army through this movement. Be among them. Allow Him to train you, transform you, and deploy you into your divine purpose.
