Richard Keys Backs John Terry to Replace Maresca at Chelsea
Sky Sports reporter Richard Keys has said that former Chelsea captain John Terry is the best candidate to take over at the Premier League club following the departure of Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea and Maresca mutually agreed to part ways on Thursday morning, leaving the managerial position open.
While several names have been linked to the role, Keys believes Terry has what it takes to succeed, drawing comparisons to Frank Lampard’s positive run at Coventry City.
He stated that Terry is deeply connected to the club and has gained valuable experience elsewhere.
“If I’m a Chelsea fan I want to see JT given a go.
“He’s a Chelsea man to the core, has served time elsewhere, and there’s no reason he can’t do what Lampard is doing at Coventry with better tools,” Keys wrote on X.
