Trump Blows Hot, Vows To Sanction Countries Buying Iranian Oil, Petrochemical Products

President Donald Trump has vowed that any country purchasing oil or petrochemical products from Iran will face immediate secondary sanctions.

According to Trump, such a nation will cease to do business with the United States.

The US President, who made the vow on Thursday via a post on his Truth Social account, declared that all purchases of Iranian oil must stop immediately.

He wrote: “ALERT: All purchases of Iranian oil or petrochemical products must stop NOW! Any country or person who buys ANY AMOUNT of OIL or PETROCHEMICALS from Iran will be subject to, immediately, Secondary Sanctions.

“They will not be allowed to do business with the United States of America in any way, shape, or form. Thank you for your attention to this matter, PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Since taking office in January this year, President Trump has implemented a “maximum pressure” campaign against Iran.

The recent move follows shortly after Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, announced that the fourth round of talks had been postponed.

He said the postponement was “for logistical and technical reasons,” stressing that the country remains “determined to achieve a just and balanced deal.”

The talks aim to curb Iran’s nuclear capabilities in exchange for the potential lifting of sanctions.
