What I Expect From Nigeria – Mahrez

Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez has said he is sure that their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal game against Nigeria will be a different test compared to their earlier match against the Democratic Republic of Congo in the round of 16.
The Desert Warriors made it to the last eight with a tough 1-0 win against the Leopards, and now they’ll face the Super Eagles in an exciting match.
Nigeria and Algeria are the only two teams that have won all their matches at the tournament in Morocco, each with four straight wins.
The Super Eagles have the strongest attack, scoring 12 goals, while the Greens have been just as strong in defense, letting in only one goal and holding the best defensive record in the competition.
Before the game, Mahrez talked about how the two teams play differently. He said Nigeria’s way of playing might lead to a more open match, unlike the earlier game against DR Congo.
The ex-Leicester City and Manchester City player told reporters, “In our next game, we’ll be up against a different team than DR Congo.
“We think the next game will be more open, giving us more room to show what we can do, and we need to be ready for it.
Nigeria and Algeria will play at the Marrakesh Stadium in Marrakesh on Saturday, and the winner will face either Morocco or Cameroon in the semifinals.
