Why I’m Contesting For APC National Youth Leader — Prince Adesanya

Prince Idris Adesanya, the state chairman of the Dapo Abiodun Youth Network, has revealed that he is vying for the office of the APC National Youth Leader because it is the office that will allow him to carry out the activities and tasks he is attempting to implement for the party’s youth.

Adesanya, a native of Ogun State, affirmed this during a one-on-one interview on Polity Reporters yesterday.

When asked about his plans, Prince Idris Adesanya stated that if elected as the National Youth Leader, he will bring young people together like never before and fight democratically for everyone’s common goals.

His words: “As a person, I’d love to dialogue with our elders about various aspects of the economy so that young people can pilot some areas of decision-making. Getting something for ourselves while fighting the leaders we met in our party doesn’t sound good. That’s why we need someone who can get close to these elders and work accordingly regardless of circumstances to fix the youth in places of power, not until we abuse them or commit evildoers before we can have our way or attain top positions. And don’t forget that before you can become a leader, you must first serve as a follower. Most importantly, I’m focused on ensuring that young people who enter politics actually get what they want.

“Also, one of my top priorities is to unite the youths because we can’t achieve much if we’re divided and some youths are focused on secondary aims. Let me be clear, I will be collaborating with true patriots on a mission to secure youth spaces. And I plan to achieve this by persuading the elders in our party that whether or not you believe, we still have some youths in this country who can do the job you think we can potentially misuse due to some youth who actually bastardised the confidence reposed in them while in power. Many things will change amicably if I’m opportune to emerge as APC National Youth Leader, and we’ll never give up on that cause as long as we live.

“Again, I’m stepping forward to work with others to make our party stronger than it’s ever been and win the general elections in February. Young men and women who are willing to participate in politics will not face difficulties, once they have me as a body to serve in the office of APC National Youth Leader. And I believe this will be a historic moment to make that happen.”

Prince Adesanya, when asked about the state the Dapo Abiodun Youth Network would be, if fortunately he emerged as the national youth leader said that “actually, the DA Youth Network is working to strengthen our party, the APC, in Ogun State, and being a National Youth Leader will enable me to accomplish more than I could have imagined. That however presents an opportunity for me to work for the second term ambition of Governor Dapo Abiodun and to ensure that our party remains and maintains power at the national level.”

The aspirant for the office of the APC National Youth Leader, when questioned about youth corruption, said that we have corrupt elderly people, as well as corrupt young people, who by virtue of this, do not represent performance, transparency, and tranquility in power. For this reason, he opined that, “we still have a lot to learn, and that we won’t be able to learn it from afar, hence the need for youths to be given key political positions, as this will allow them to gradually understand how government works.”
