House Nullifies Nomination Of Adelabu
The Lagos State House of Assembly has nullified the nomination of Mrs Adebisi Adelabu as the General Manager of the Lagos State Parking Authority, LASPAA.
The Assembly took the decision during its plenary session on Monday.
In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday evening, the chairman of the screening committee, Hon. Mojeed Fatai, noted that the committee presented its report and the House unanimously adopted the nullification of her nomination.
Fatai explained that Adelabu had been functioning in the capacity of General Manager since 2021.
He said that she had never appeared before the House for the constitutionally required confirmation.
He stressed that this breach of legislative procedure was a key factor in the committee’s recommendation to nullify her appointment.
The plenary, led by the Speaker of the House, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, then adopted the committee’s recommendation and formally nullified her nomination.
The House, however, unanimously confirmed the nominations of Mrs Adeyemo Khadijat as Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission and Mrs Adepoju Adebajo as Chairman of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund.
