Fagbenro-Bibire Preaches Love, Peace, Humility On Christmas
Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro popularly known as Bibire has called on Christians to show love to people of other religions during Christmas and beyond into the new year.
The PDP chieftain made this call in his Christmas message released to Polity Reporters on the 25th of December.
He explained that the birth of Jesus Christ was used by God to pass a clear message of love to the whole world.
He said God used Christmas to remind mankind that love should guide our thoughts, our words, and our actions towards one another.
Bibire furthered that Jesus Christ truly lived as the Prince of Peace and urged Nigerians of all faiths to embrace peace which the nation urgently needs at this time.
He also asked people to learn humility from the Christmas story where the Saviour of the world was born in a very simple and lowly place.
He described the birth of the King of kings in a manger as a deep lesson that greatness can walk with humility.
He added that the birth of Jesus Christ made salvation and redemption possible and described this as the greatest gift God has given to mankind.
Bibire, who said being alive to witness another Christmas is a privilege considering the challenges facing the nation and the world, advised Christians to celebrate with moderation while giving thanks to God and thinking about how to serve God and humanity better.
He also stressed that the festive period should be used to pray for peace unity development and prosperity in the country.
The strong supporter of Governor Seyi Makinde also urged the people of Oyo State to pray for the success of the administration as it works to move the state forward under the Omititun 2.0 agenda.
He concluded by saying that God remains in control of the affairs of Oyo State as shown by the considerable progress recorded under Governor Seyi Makinde and called on residents to continue praying for the number one citizen of Oyo State for the successful completion of the task of moving the state to greater heights.
